So sorry that I missed the feature Friday post last week, I was just having too much fun with the my sisters (& mom!!) to stop playing and get on the computer! But we are back in full force this week with lots of fun stuff in store!!!
You might remember that I headed down to the south of UT for the weekend to attend my little sisters baby shower. The shower was on Saturday and little Bailey arrived healthy and beautiful at 1:46 pm Sunday (yesterday-2 weeks early!). I was going to be heading back home Sunday afternoon, so I was forced to stay and wait for her to arrive! :) Couldn't have been better timing!
Our family (minus my dad-traveling with work and my little brother on a mission in Washington) L-R: Alisa, Bailey, me, Amanda, Alena, mom.
I thought I'd also post the tutorial for the last item I gave this sweet little baby-a Wipes Case! Idea taken from Make it and Love it.
First start, by cutting 6-2x5 pieces of fabric (I used 3 of each color) and arrange them how you'd like them to go.
Using about a 1/4 inch seam allowance sew each strip of fabric together.
Next, measure out 2 pieces of felt to be 9x5 (are we all appreciating the after nap hair? Sweetness.)
I would have used white normally for both sides, but I ran out and didn't want to have to go to the store for one piece of felt.
Then you will hot glue your felt directly to the wipes case. I did mine by gluing the felt just on the edge of the case. I've done this before and when you put the hot glue in the middle you can slightly see it through the fabric. This just gives it a cleaner look I think.
Once both sides are glued...
... trim trim the excess off.
Now you're ready to glue your fabric to the felt. I did this the same way I glued the felt to the case-around the edges.
I chose to do a solid 9x5 sheet of fabric for the back. You'll want to make sure that you have enough fabric around the edges that it goes over the back and front of the case onto the sides. It doesn't need to be even though because you'll be putting ribbon around the outer edges which will cover up the fabric.
Then I chose to embellish the case with a 5/8" black grosgrain ribbon hot glued across the front.
As well as making a yo-yo flower for the front with a sparkly, silver brad.
And to make it personal I added the baby's name to the back of the case using iron-on embroidery letters from Hobby Lobby.
To cover up the fabric edges and give the case a nice finished look, hot glue 3/8 grosgrain ribbon in a coordinating color all around the outer edges of the top and bottom of the case.
The ribbon should come out looking {something} like this!
And now you're done! This is an easy quick project that should take about 30 min and cost less than $2! (not including the actual huggies wipes container which I already had)
A pretty sweet little gift set right?! And for all 3 items coming in under $10 it's not too shabby!

Hopefully this little Sweet Love will love it!
