About Me

Who. am. I?

The short (but definitely not as fun :) ) version:
I am a wife of one, mother of two, daughter to 2 people still wonderfully in love, oldest sister to 4, and friend to any and all who will have me! My family is the reason I do every. single. thing. I do. I have recently learned that I have a passion for creating, a LOVE for all things beautiful and sweet-which is EVERYTHING around me-and a desire to learn as much as I can from all those I am surrounded by.

I love surprises, going out to dinner, snuggles from my kids, high-heels, chocolate covered almonds, spray paint, lazy days, the color purple, thunder, action movies, and Christmas. I hate flossing (so much that I DON'T do it), cloudy days, cooking, ironing, crowded places-as in I do all my Christmas shopping online,  that my 4 yr. old still wears a pull-up to bed, that I have no idea how to discipline my princess of a 2 yr. old, that I can't wear the color red, and exercise.

My life is FULL of Love, Sweet, Love-hence the blog name- and I wanted a place to be able to share it! You'll notice each of my posts has the words Sweet Love in it somewhere because after all; "What the world needs now is love, sweet love...it's the only thing that there's just too little of". So feel free to share your love with me too! Thanks for reading!

The long (and hopefully worth the read :) ) version:
I believe I am who I am because of the people I am surrounded by. Relationships build character, ideas, beliefs, strengths, and dreams.

So you want to know about me? Get to know the people I love and you'll do just that. First I introduce to you...the Mr.
Mr. Sweet Love: (let's not tell him that's his name k? k.)

To those who know me, it's no secret that I love to celebrate. Birthdays, holidays, Fridays, my just turned 4 yr. old writing his name perfectly, a clean house, running on the treadmill without passing out-or falling off-, completing 7 loads of laundry(which includes folding and putting away) in one day, staying alive-and happy-through yet another winter, getting crayon off the wall-and windows, making a new blog post, showering before 9 am, feeding my kids 3 balanced meals in one day, etc. I can pretty much think of an excuse for everything that happens in my life as an opportunity to celebrate. :) I mean seriously, can you have too many bowls of ice-cream or pairs of shoes?? Thank you ladies.

So you might imagine that Mr. Sweet Love and I sort of hit a rough spot when he chooses not to celebrate many of things I like to, such as...birthdays, or anniversary's, or my clean kitchen sink. Over the last 6+ years on our journey of love I've come to understand that this is just who he is and so no longer get my hopes up for anything more than a Napoleon dynamite card with ONE 1 dollar bill inside for any gift giving occasion. No, he didn't! you say. Yes he did. He seriously did that for my birthday the year that I was DOG DOG sick while pregnant with our first offspring. Needless to say my sense of humor has greatly improved over the last 7 years. But for all the gift-giving handicaps he has he greatly makes up for it when he does things like this:
"Surprise! I just thought you might like a new purse." he says. Uh might?! And THAT is so my man.

He is generous and kind and FULL of surprises! He is the smartest person I have ever met and has more skills than I can keep track of. He's the go to person in our house for getting out stains in clothes, cooking gourmet meals, fixing and building computers, fixing anything on a car, decorating, ironing, parenting, doing the dishes and bringing home the bacon. And those are just the top 10 in a list of 100. I sorta love him. a lot.

The Prince:
This little boy came into our lives in Feb. of 2007 and turned our world upside down-in a good way! He is respectfully cautious, undeniably charming, openly kind to everyone he meets, and obsessed with all things Super-Hero! He must wear socks to bed, sleeps completely sprawled outside his covers, can never have dirty hands, drinks strawberry milk by the gallons, memorizes lines from movies like it aint no thang, and has recently, carefully, come to the analyzation that Mommy's "magic powder" that gets sprinkled on boo-boo's "isn't real". Sniff. Wish I had some stop-growing-up magic powder on hand cause he'd get a whole lot more than a sprinkle of that.

The Princess:
This beauty added her sweet love to our family in Dec. 2008. She is 50% spice and 50% sweet and I never knew there could be so much sass in one little person! She is a sensitive fireball, a sincere drama queen and a loyal friend. She sticks up for her brother at all times and is the only one allowed to be mean to him. She loves to be tucked in tight under her covers-where she stays exactly all night, chocolate milk, babies, babies, and more babies, princesses and Ranch dressing-by the gallons. She thinks time-out is a joke, and makes me laugh more times in the day than anyone I've ever met. It's her way or the highway around here and I can't believe I lived so long without her.

So that's me. Got it? And just one more picture cause you've got to see a little of this sass for yourself!
